Bear with me. Since it's dA's 15th birthday, I figured I might as well fill out the "official questionnaire". :eager: Happy Birthday dA!

  1. How long have you been on DeviantArt?
    10 years

  2. What does your username mean?
It's pure randomness really. The first part came out of a textbook from my AP Art History class. The second part is for the flower. At the time it was my favorite flower. :rose:

  3. Describe yourself in three words.
    Stubborn. Open. Innovative.

  4. Are you left or right handed?
Right handed, except on a bicycle (for some weird reason).

  5. What was your first deviation?
I think I've deleted by now. It was likely my 2.0 megapixel picture of Canada Geese goslings. My oldest uploaded deviation is this one:

  6. What is your favourite type of art to create?
Photography. It's the only thing I can produce semi-competently. I tried to get more into drawing, but I do not have the patience.

  7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
I would master drawing. It's an enviable and gorgeous medium. My second choice would be painting with watercolors.

  8. What was your first favourite?
Darkness enters the Shire. by nellmckellar

  9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
    Usually photography and traditional art

  10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
I am going to say Hyperized. I'm completely biased since I am marrying him :bucktooth:

  11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
No one really. I've met many many people from dA already. This includes dA Staff and most everyone I generally talk to.

  12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
There were A LOT of people. The chat room #photographers single-handedly raised my photography hobby into an obsession. Astralseed has always had my back, and shown me many things about life. Hyperized has slowly and surely transformed me into another person. I gave up my life in the USA to start a new one overseas with him.

  13. What are your preferred tools to create art?
My Canon 7D. Film cameras from WWII or earlier.

  14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
Running around in the outdoors with my camera, usually in a forest.

  15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
Receiving mystery packages of dA gear in the mail.

:thumb132813415:   You were the river..."You remind me of the river."
I remember when you said this to me.
[...But it was you that was always moving, seeing the world and leaving me behind.]
I know you always wondered why I never closed my eyes when you asked me to.
[ It was because I was afraid you would disappear as soon as I did.]
You were always changing the color of your hair to match your mood.
[I was always trying to match you,but you were always one step ahead.]
While you were frantically packing your bags before I got home.
[My heart was teeter tottering on telephone wires, while your's was already miles away.]
When your hands were busy exploring all her curves.
[Some where I was writing love letters you'll never see in old books you'll never read.]
After all you were only good at one liners.
[I was only good for one night stands.]
Paper ships with Paper heartsLast night I danced with you over endless I love you's and forget me not's  to your bed.
In the morning I tip-toed over mountains of regretful thoughts and i hate you's nipping at my heels.
On the coldest day in December i dressed myself in your favorite dress and made a million paper ships with paper hearts.
With bandaged hands i released them down a watered gutterpath all addressed to you,but your lips were to busy mumbling sweet nothing's that even you didn't believe.
All the while my paper ships with paper hearts sailed on by until they soaked up all the water and sank.
So tonight she will dance with you over empty I love you's and I'll forget you tomorrow's to your bed.
I'll just keep making these paper ships with my paper heart and maybe someday one will reach you.

:iconmarianne-lim:

A nature photographer in Austrailia but it seems like the stereotypical 'outback' is far from her only subject. According
to the website she shares with another nature photographer, Miss Marianne Lim seems to be drawn toward the details of the
bigger picture, something that we often miss on our own. Sporting pictures from China, South America, Nepal and even
Iceland, this girl seems to be willing to go to the farthest regions and beyond to get that perfect picture and show us
the beauty that surrounds us all.

:iconneko-twister:

neko-twister has an amazing grasp of color that it literally blows your mind! Literally. I just had to wipe some
drool from the corner of my mouth. The colors are fantastic but oddly soft many places. His style of drawing, though,
is both unique and oddly familiar, deffinately a welcome addition to the artist world, even if he isn't a new one.

:iconneokale:

Native of Japan, neokale has a style so unique it's almost impossible to explain accurately! She mixes black inks
and colors to create something fresh and beautiful, it looks like you're taking a peek into some sort of dream land. Her
work with pastels, colored pencils and even pastels only adds to the effect of an innocent other-world, one untouched or
untainted. Perhaps a touch of desire or mourning something lost can be found in the bold lines of some of her works while
the bright and soft colors tells a tale of something warm and pure.

This gallery is filled with both digital and traditional art.  The artist has a bit of a vintage story book style which is
pulled off quite nicely in their gallery.  Nice and vibrant colors coupled with good subjects make this gallery a must see.

Long time overdue, we have a new contest! Artists across the world are running into more barriers against photography, especially in public areas. It's becoming a major legal issue in some places. Inspired by this article, we're holding a contest. What is censorship to YOU? What does it look like? What moments is it stopping from being captured? Demonstrate what censorship is to you, in a photograph. Upload it to dA and note The-Canon-Club with a link to your deviation. The entries will be placed into our collection and journal. Then narrowed down to 10 entries and voted on by YOU.

:bulletred: You do NOT have to join the group to enter.
:bulletred: You do not have to use Canon or take the picture with a Canon camera to enter.
:bulletred: The EXIF data must be attached. Please note we will allow film, and will take entries without EXIF on an individual basis.
:bulletred: No extensive nudity or photoshopping please.
